“chisme” loosely translated from Spanish means “gossip” but that really doesn’t do it justice. Chisme is one of my core values - it’s my life force. It is perhaps why I’m a writer - I’m just obsessed with stories about people’s lives, whether or not I even know them. If you too love chisme, I consider you one of my “girls” and so this is for you. And to the uninitiated, welcome! You should read this article by Ana Escalante first for an in-depth explanation of the word.

So tbh I don’t know what this is exactly yet (and I’ve been procrastinating posting because of that). All I know is that this is mostly a challenge and an indulgence for myself to simply be brave and share my writing with you - share my chisme if you will. So let’s call it an unhinged diary made up of personal essays, confessions, semi-formed thoughts and maybe even a little advice.
